A Look Inside Valo: Solving Your Biggest Salesforce Security Headaches

Making a Secure Salesforce Environment a Reality
We've been hard at work over the summer turning your feedback into a set of powerful new features. For many Salesforce administrators, the day-to-day work can feel like a constant battle against hidden risks. With every new connected app and user permission, the security landscape gets more complex. We know the challenge of trying to get a complete picture of your org’s security, worrying about unexpected API limits, and struggling to stay on top of manual admin tasks.
At Valo, we believe that security shouldn’t be a burden. That's why we've been focused on solving these core problems. Here's what's new and remember to try these out for yourself (free 30-day trial here).
The Problem: A Lack of Centralized Visibility
Your Salesforce org is a hub of data, users, and apps, but trying to get a comprehensive view of your security posture can feel like piecing together a puzzle with missing pieces. You have to jump from report to report to understand who has what access and where your most critical risks lie.
The Solution: The Valo Dashboard
We've created a powerful new dashboard that gives you a complete overview of your org’s security at a glance. It’s your mission control for Salesforce. In one centralized place, you can see your key risks and activity levels, and get answers to critical questions like:
- How secure are my permissions? The Permission Power Score shows you the average level of access across your users.
- Am I using risky apps? The dashboard instantly highlights Low-Security Apps, which is a crucial insight in light of Salesforce's latest security changes.
- Am I wasting money? We give you clear recommendations on licenses you can optimize.
The Problem: Proactive vs. Reactive Security
In a fast-moving environment, a security threat or a performance issue can emerge without warning. If you’re not alerted in time, you could hit an API limit, leading to business disruptions, or miss a critical security vulnerability.
The Solution: Proactive Monitoring and Alerts
We've made it easier to get ahead of the curve. Our API usage feature now forecasts how many API calls you are on track to use, helping you understand your usage trends before they become a problem. These projections are shown in your usage graph, giving you a clear heads-up.
To ensure you never miss a critical alert, key notifications are now enabled by default. You’ll receive real-time alerts for high-risk insights and newly connected applications, allowing you to respond swiftly and stay in control.
Resources to Reduce Connected App Risk
To help you navigate the new connected app changes in Salesforce, we've created two essential resources:
How Hackers View Your Salesforce Landscape
Our CTO and co-founder, Mika Ståhlberg, has recorded a special video to walk you through the recent threat landscape and detail the steps you can take to keep your org safe.

For a detailed breakdown of how Valo can help you navigate these changes, I wrote a post exploring the new security landscape and providing actionable steps for admins.
